Brown Bag Lunch

Every 3-4 months the Mayor hosts a brown bag lunch at Town Hall to discuss issues residents may have.  Its a great event to meet the Mayor and Council Members.

Tennis Events

The tennis committee will be putting together several events through out the summer season to get all residents interested and involved in tennis.

Earth Bike Day

To celebrate Earth Day the Town will have a short bike ride, bike safety tips, music and mingling with residents.  Bike ride starts at Town Hall Parking Lot and will end at the Pool parking lot where all the other festivities will take place.

Children's Pop-Up Market Place

The event is a one day pop-up market place at Town Hall where children can set up a booth and sell goods and/or services. The purpose of the event is to encourage entrepreneurship and to instill the value that social/environmental conscience is an important part of economic success.  The event will take place at Town Hall grass area.

Rain Garden Dedication

The PNRC, Environmental Committee, Town Council, and Mayor are inviting all Town Residents to attend the Rain Garden Dedication located at Walter Behr Path (driveway to tennis courts).  Backyard Bounty will be there to explain the different plants that have been planted to help with the water runoff from the driveway.

Pool Committee Events

The pool Committee will host several events at the pool during the summer months - public safety seminars, movie night etc.

Movie Night - Saturday, September 15, 2018 - 5:30 pm (Subject to change once pool opening and closing is set)

Summer Kick-off Party

The Town hosts a party at the beginning of the pool season with picnic foods, light refreshments and a brief program. This event is typically held in June.

July 4 Celebration

Each year, on July 4, the Town hosts a party for residents at the Town Hall. Weather permitting, residents usually have picnic on the lawn; light refreshments are served. In addition, there is a brief formal program in which residents and local officials participate.

Nonagenarian Party

Each year, in September the Town hosts an ice cream social at the pool to celebrate all the residents that are 90 years old and up.

Newcomers’ Welcome

Each year, the Town hosts a pool party for all of the new residents who have moved into Somerset within the past year.

2018 Newcomers' Welcome Party will be - Saturday, September 8, 2018 -  2 pm to 4 pm.

Dog Swim

On the last day of each pool season, a dog swim is held at the Town Pool, one of the Town’s most anticipated happenings!

2018 Dog Swim will be - last day the pool is open for the season -  6 pm to 7 pm.

Flu Shot Clinic

Each year, the Town sets up a date to offer flu and pneumonia shots at Town Hall.  This is coordinated with MedStar Nurses who come and administers the vaccines...We do require residents to contact us and make an appointment - 10 slots every 15 min. starting 2:45 and ending 4:45 time slot.

2018 Flue Shot Clinic will be - Friday, October 19, 2018 - 2:45 - 4:45 pm.

Community Service Day

Each year, typically in November, the Town organizes a community service day that is held at the Town Hall. Non-perishable food items are collected for homeless shelters in the area, and pet toys are made for the humane society.
