The Town of Somerset has a proud heritage of Committees comprising of volunteer Somerset residents dating back to its founding with the first Committee, the Audit Committee, & our one & only Board, the Board of Supervisors of Elections, enshrined in the Town Charter. All other Committees are established by the Mayor with the approval of the Town Council. These Committees focus on a variety of interests to the Town that help determine their scope & activities. The Committees are governed by rules set forth in both the Town Charter & the Town Code of Ordinances.

Audit Committee

The annual Town Audit shall be reviewed by an auditing committee appointed by the Town Council. Such committee shall render its report to the Mayor and Town Council before the end of the calendar year. Read More

The Board of Supervisors of Elections oversees the Town's election process which includes setting dates, registering voters, ensuring proper nomination of candidates, running the election, & counting the votes. Read More
